Cessna To Provide A Lucky Winner With 5000 dollars in Flight Training

Drawing to be held at EAA AirVenture Learn to Fly Center
 
A grand-prize donation from Cessna Aircraft Company will give aspiring pilots attending this year's EAA AirVenture Oshkosh another reason to visit the new Learn-to-Fly Center on the grounds. One lucky attendee will receive a $5,000 credit toward flight instruction at any of the roughly 300 Cessna Pilot Centers spanning the nation. The grand prize drawing will take place on the event's final day, Sunday, July 29.

 

Sun N Fun Changes Dates Of 2008 Fly In

FAA Sets Deadline For E-LSA Conversion Process

06/28/07 - Individuals converting aircraft into an experimental light-sport aircraft (E-LSA) have until January 31, 2008, to complete the E-LSA registration, the E-LSA airworthiness inspection, and the E-LSA certification process. The FAA will guarantee that your registration and certification packet will be reviewed and your E-LSA aircraft inspected in sufficient time to meet the January 2008 deadline if applicants meet the following three deadlines.

 

FAA to Issue E-LSA Registrations at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh

June 22, 2007 - In a program similar to what was done at Lakeland earlier this year, the FAA will provide on-site registration for a limited number of EAA members who wish to transition an ultralight to the experimental light-sport aircraft (E-LSA) category at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2007. EAA members must sign up in advance for an appointment at the FAA Building, where an FAA employee will review and process their registration materials for issuance of an N-number. Appointments are available during the first two days of AirVenture, July 23-24.

SUN ’N FUN CAMPUS, LAKELAND, Fla. – (June 7, 2007) – The Florida Air Museum at Sun ’n Fun is now accepting reservations for Destination Aviation and Space Camps for kids ages 7-18. The popular camps will enter their 6th season this year and are jam packed with aviation fun and the opportunity to apply learned skills in math, science, physics, technology and geography. Two categories of Summer Camp are offered with an option for day or residential camping. Partial scholarships are also available.

 

EAAs Sport Pilot Instructor Database Surpasses 600 Instructors

05/16/07 - Aspiring sport pilots seeking dual instruction in their area should look no further than EAA’s ever-expanding sport pilot instructor database, which now lists more than 600 flight instructors authorized in airplanes, weight-shift, powered parachutes, gliders and gyroplanes. Chances are there’s a qualified flight instructor nearby.

 

FAA Releases Latest Revision To Amateur Built Certification Policy

Clarifies intent on use of TC’d parts  
    
May 14, 2007 - The FAA recently clarified aircraft certification policy regarding the use of parts from previously type-certificated aircraft in the construction and certification of an amateur-built aircraft. The agency added the following statement to FAA Order 8130.2F change 3:
"NOTE: A rebuilt, altered, or repaired type-certificated aircraft DOES NOT meet the intent of § 21.191(g) and DOES NOT meet the § 21.191(g) requirement that the major portion of the aircraft be fabricated and assembled."

Cooperatives Open in Kentucky, California, Idaho and Utah

Mary Jones, editor of EAA Sport Pilot & Light Sport Aircraft Magazine, filed her final report from AERO 2007, Europe’s largest general aviation exposition that concluded Sunday in Friedrichshafen, Germany.  It’s another beautiful day in Friedrichshafen, Germany, today, Sunday, April 22, as the 16th Aero International Aviation Trade Exhibition draws to a close.
