ATI Announces ROTAX Training Classes Duing Sun-N-Fun 2008

Sebring, FLORIDA / April 2, 2008 - Rotax aircraft engine expert Dean Vogel, of Aero Technical Institute (ATI) will make a presentation at the Light Sport forums from 11 to 12 AM on Tuesday April 8th in tent #11. The forum tents are located inside the main entrance gate to the left or west (the LSA Mall is on the right or east). One tent is exclusively for LSA topics.

ATI is affiliated with Lockwood Aviation Supply, the number one Rotax service center in North America.  That proximity gives Vogel a unique insight into the best ways to maintain and operate your Rotax 9 series aircraft engine.  His talk, titled "Rotax 912 Introduction to Service and Maintenance," will bring new understanding to the current FAA requirements for performing maintenance on Rotax-powered SLSA.

"Dean's talk is the perfect introduction for A&P mechanics being asked to perform maintenance on the enlarging U.S. fleet of Light-Sport Aircraft," clarifies fellow Rotax expert Phil Lockwood, President of Lockwood Aviation Supply. All present or future Rotax owners or operators will also benefit by attending.

After hearing Vogel's presentation, those who wish to go forward with complete engine training can contact ATI (www.aerotechnicalinstitute.com) regarding classes to increase their ability to service Rotax engines.  A set of sixteen-hour courses is offered by ATI at the Sebring Airport.  Contact ATI at 863-655-7373 for more information on the upcoming A&P courses.

The 9-series engines from Rotax power an overwhelming majority of Light-Sport Aircraft (LSA) (www.rotax-aircraft-engines.com).  Since 1982, Rotax has delivered more than 125,000 aircraft engines and annually produces more than 200,000 powerplants for a variety of vehicles, 70% of which are four stroke engines.

Aero Technical Institute (ATI) was formed to increase understanding of engines and airframes throughout aviation but with a sharp focus on Light-Sport Aircraft. ATI offers exceptional expertise in Rotax engines as well as several LSA airframes. Operating from the Lockwood Aircraft Supply facilities on the Sebring Airport (home to the Sebring U.S. Light Sport Expo), few other teaching organizations can offer this rare combination of hands-on experience with local experts to keep up with the latest changes in a dynamic industry. ATI is lead by Dean Vogel, an ex-military fighter pilot who previously directed Cirrus Design's work with governmental agencies in the area of research and technology.
