No, this isn't an official EAA designation, but it is a big day for the organization. LAMA, the Light Aircraft Manufacturers Association, is very pleased to highlight the events occurring on the opening day of EAA's summer celebration of flight.

LAMA wishes to advise all media persons of the presence of the LSA Mall at AirVenture. This is the first time an industry-led LSA Mall has occurred, though LAMA wishes to publicly acknowledge and thank EAA for their past presentation of a LSA Mall for AirVenture 2005 through 2008.
The EAA Oshkosh AirVenture 2009 LSA Mall will feature 17 Special Light-Sport Aircraft, including nearly all of the top-selling models. Visitors to the LSA Mall will find Flight Design, Tecnam, Remos, Evektor, Jabiru, Czech Sport Aircraft, TL Ultralight, IndUS, Gobosh, FPNA, Paradise, Arion, Progressive Aerodyne, SeaMax, X-Air, M-Squared, and 3Xtrim. Still other companies are exhibiting very near the LSA Mall.
Inside the LAMA Welcome Tent, visitors will find displays for Rotax and Jabiru engines, AirFleet Capital financing, Sportair's night-vision system, Aircraft Partnerships, Dynon avionics, LSA Mall supporter Aviators Hot Line & Light Aviation Edition, Virtual LSA Mall.com, Windsok, and, of course, LAMA.
Personnel working at the LAMA tent are prepared to help visitors find any Light-Sport Aircraft producer exhibiting anywhere at AirVenture 2009 even if that company is not a LSA Mall participant.
LAMA, the Light Aircraft Manufacturers Association, is the light aviation industry's trade association. Founded in 1984, LAMA represents approximately 100 members of the Light-Sport Aircraft business community including airframe manufacturers; producers of engines, avionics, and components; suppliers, distributors; flight schools; and other aviation businesses. LAMA provides the LAMA Compliance Audit to producers wishing to demonstrate third party oversight and the organization uses the LAMA Label on compliant Light-Sport Aircraft to convey this verification to consumers.
