American Legend Aircraft Company Introduces Amphibious FloatCub

SULPHUR SPRINGS, TEXAS, APRIL 24, 2009 – American Legend Aircraft Company announced today its plans to offer an amphibious Legend FloatCub equipped with floats from supplier Baumann Floats, LLC, of New Richmond, Wisconsin. The new amphibious Legend FloatCub will comply with light-sport requirements of 1,430 maximum gross weight and a simple retractable landing gear.

Effective immediately, American Legend will be taking $10,000 refundable deposits on the amphibious Legend FloatCub light-sport aircraft. The company expects certification and delivery of the first aircraft in July 2009. The amphibious Legend FloatCub will be offered at $159,000.

The Legend FloatCub is the seaplane certified version of the #1 selling American manufactured light-sport Legend Cub. It weighs less than comparable aircraft, costs less, and has the added advantage of doors on both sides of the cockpit, giving the Legend Cub pilot/passenger easy access from either side of the aircraft. American Legend completed and flew its first FloatCub, equipped with Baumann straight floats, in June 2005. This aircraft subsequently won the Best Float Fabric Seaplane Award at Sun ‘n Fun 2006. The new amphibious Legend FloatCub will now give American Legend customers the ability to change their landing site from water to land, or land to water.

Baumann has been manufacturing FAA certificated floats since 1989, and is a recognized leader in the industry for lightweight and medium duty aircraft floats. The company provides models certified for the Piper J-3, PA-11, PA-12, PA-14, PA-18; Aviat Husky; Taylorcraft; Cessna 172, 175, Hawk XP; Maule and various light-sport aircraft. Baumann is currently working on certification for the Cessna 170 series, American Champion 7AC and 7EC series, and Piper PA-22/20 series aircraft.
