Award Winning Legend AmphibCub and Top Selling Legend Cub are Flying Sport Pilots Coast-to-Coast

American Legend Aircraft CompanySULPHUR SPRINGS, TEXAS, NOVEMBER 8, 2010 – American Legend Aircraft Company announced today its Legend AmphibCub and top selling Legend Cub continue their award-winning ways and sales leadership in the Sport Pilot segment. These thoroughly modern aircraft, based on the American classic Cub, continue a more than 75-year history of providing memorable flying experiences to pilots and passengers from coast-to-coast America.

Since its first flight in July 2009, the Legend AmphibCub, has made the annual Fall trek to the International Seaplane Fly-in in Greenville, Maine. In 2009, the AmphibCub took two awards there, including: “Best Take-Off” and “Cutest Darn Aircraft.” The Legend AmphibCub continued its performance excellence by winning a repeat “Best Take-Off” in September 2010. Darin Hart, owner of American Legend Aircraft Company, was at the controls.

The Legend Cub has been the best selling American-manufactured aircraft for light-sport since its introduction in 2005. In recent years, the Legend Cub has flown from its home base in Texas to the annual AOPA Aviation Summit (formerly AOPA Expo) held alternately in Florida and California. The Legend Cub will repeat its California appearance in 2010. Look for the Legend Cub on display from Thursday, November 11th through Saturday, November 13th at Long Beach Airport (Daugherty Field, KLGB).

American Legend Aircraft Company manufacturers the sport certified Legend Cub and Legend AmphibCub, and the amateur-built Texas Sport—an aircraft kit based on the Legend Cub. The company’s Restoration Services division performs work on most tube-and-fabric aircraft, and manufactures parts to original manufacturer’s specifications.
