CubCrafters Building A New Sport Cub Every Four Days

Focusing On Even Higher Quality Standards

4/17/2007 Lakeland, FL: Displaying two brand new CC11-100 SPORT CUBS at Sun ‘N Fun 2007, CubCrafters is now building the aircraft at near target production rates of one every 32 hours while exceeding the quality standards that the company has come to be known for after 27 years in business.

Vice President Todd Simmons noted the achievement: "The aviation media, fans of the Cub genre, and most important - our customers - are praising the airplane and our diligent focus on craftsmanship and quality in the finished product. While others rushed reproduction aircraft into the nascent LSA market, we asked for patience while we redesigned the iconic airplane to a higher standard, and the results speak for themselves. Current and future SPORT CUB owners and the CubCrafters team are justifiably proud of what we have accomplished."

Validating the higher standards which govern the aircraft production process at CubCrafters, the FAA awarded only the second "production certificate" in the state of Washington in early February of this year. Simmons added: "We are glad to be in the same class as our jet-making friends over in Seattle… and it looks like they have a hot-selling plane on their hands that is almost as popular as SPORT CUB! We demonstrated to the FAA the disciplined approach to quality required to be awarded the ‘PC’, and that system governs not only SPORT CUB production, but all we do at CubCrafters. It’s another building block among many long-term investments we have made in ourselves that each are a key part of our commitment to quality."
