Lambada Motorglider Preparing for LAMA Audit
Melbourne FL / December 28, 2007 - Josef Bostik attended a ceremony as Czech LSA producer Urban Air occupied new quarters. The company's production of their Lambada has moved to a larger facility in Kerhartice, not far from the original Moravia factory. As manager of importer Urban Air USA, Bostik reported, "I was present at the Grand Opening Gala on the 7th of November with many Czech political figures in attendance, which generated national television coverage."
Urban Air grew from a garage-type operation of 25 employees in April 2007 to over 50 employees today. "They've doubled production in six months," said Bostik, "and we are on our way to grow as an Light-Sport Aircraft manufacturer!" Earlier this year, the company underwent an ownership change and major investment to rejuvenate this well-known composite aircraft manufacturer.
The rapid turnaround and positive forward steps are thanks to Mr. Dipl. Ing. Jan Gregor, a businessman with 30 years of management expertise who has the full commitment of Urban Air ownership.
Urban Air has a new quality assurance plan in effect and all the requisite SLSA manuals, including individual processes, have been implemented. The Czech manufacturer is very close to achieving compliance with ISO standards and has fully complied with the ASTM industry consensus standards, Bostik said. Urban Air USA is arranging for a LAMA compliance audit at the earliest opportunity.
The new Lambada '08 SLSA motorglider model is now fully ready for the market after reaching concurrence of Venessa Air (engineering) s.r.o., the Czech LAA, the Urban Air factory and Urban Air USA, with all the supporting documentation complete and ready for audit. "I brought every document necessary for the S-LSA certification back with me," finished Bostik.
The first two Lambada LSA were shipped to Urban Air USA on the 12th of November and recently arrived in Melbourne, Florida. Urban Air USA will be displaying at the Sebring U.S. Sport Aviation Expo from January 17-20, 2008.
Bostik Industries, LLC is the sole U.S. importer of the Urban Air Lambada UFM 13. The company handles eastern U.S. distribution from its Melbourne, Florida headquarters.
