Delivery Number 300 A New Milestone For LSA

Light-Sport Aircraft Leading Seller First to Reach 300 in U.S. Fleet

Arlington, WASHINGTON / July 10, 2009 - Flight Design announced that its Distributor, Flight Design Mid-Atlantic, has delivered a new CTLS, marking the number 300 in total units shipped to customers. The airplane (N74KG) was picked up at Lancaster Airports in Lititz, Pennsylvania by customer Kenneth D. Griffin of Southampton, New Jersey on Wednesday July 8th. This milestone delivery was announced today while Flight Design USA was displaying at the EAA Arlington fly in Washington.

The leading seller of Light-Sport Aircraft in the United States, Flight Design was first to hit milestones of 100 and 200 deliveries and has now repeated that front-row performance. No other companies have yet reached 150 deliveries, according to FAA aircraft registration data.

Flight Design Mid-Atlantic completed the process of delivery and training. "I know that we had another delivery pending this week as well and wanted to have the honor of giving the keys to the 300th satisfied customer," said John Calla, president of Flight Design Mid-Atlantic.

"Most airplane companies are not delivering at the rate of 2006-2007," observed National Sales Director, John Gilmore, "but here at the Arlington airshow, we have seen an increase in activity as we build the network of aircraft dealers. The acceptance of high-end LSA aircraft is more than an entry point to aviation community."

"We are able to transition high-time aviators as well as recruit recently-certificated pilots," added Gilmore. "Both categories have been impressed by the engineering quality, travel comfort, long range, and welcomed cost savings of the newest generation of Light-Sport Aircraft. The number 300 delivery confirms that the market continues to increase and the demand for new quality aircraft continues."

The company continues to deliver its fully loaded CTLS for $133,800. All have dual primary flight displays, are night-flight qualified (with proper pilot credentials), have whole aircraft parachutes as standard equipment, and are available from stock or from current production.

Flight Design USA is the U.S. importer of the CT series from Germany. The company has succeeded in delivering 300 aircraft to its American network of distributors and dealers. One of the first Light-Sport Aircraft certified under ASTM standards, the carbon fiber CT series is the best-selling LSA in America. Approximately 1,300 CT models are flying around the globe.
