Flight Design Ships First Customer CTLS Models

Announces Dealerships Available in Select Regions

South Woodstock, CONNECTICUT / March 6, 2008-Flight Design USA unveiled their new CTLS to a warm reception at the January 2008 Sebring U.S. Sport Aviation Expo. As the German producer promised, this was not an introduction to be followed by a long wait before manufacturing started. In keeping with corporate policy, aircraft are fully certified when released and can be ordered immediately.

In late February, orders placed at Sebring were received following ocean shipment and clearing of customs and security. National Sales Director, Ken Godin reported, "Our distributor, Airtime Aviation based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, received their first shipment of three Flight Design CTLS aircraft on February 28th. After a busy weekend in their shop, they got all three assembled, certified, and flying by March 3rd." Airtime Aviation has a dozen units of the new model on order.

Airtime Aviation is a father and son team running America's largest Light-Sport Aircraft distributorship. In 2007, they had the distinction of selling CT #200 in the USA which coincidentally happened to be their 50th CT sale. After such a great run with the still-available CTSW model, Airtime said they are pleased with the new model.

The younger of the Airtime team, Tom Gutmann Jr., said, "I finally had the chance to fly the LS in smooth air. It flies like a dream, I love it!" Tom Jr., had the opportunity to get several hours in the LS doing demonstration flights at the Sebring LSA Expo but conditions were often windy making it harder to gain a true feel for the airplane.

As Flight Design has built its national network, it has gradually opened up new territories for dealers. "We took it slow, to make sure we got it right," said Flight Design USA President, Tom Peghiny. "Now that our CTSW is complimented by the all-new CTLS, we are ready to open additional opportunities for dealerships in selected areas." All new dealers will work through the company's existing distributors. Interested existing aviation businesses or entrepreneurs can contact Flight Design USA for available territories.

Flight Design USA is the U.S. importer of the CT series from Germany. The company has succeeded in delivering more than 240 aircraft to its network of distributors and dealers. One of the first Light-Sport Aircraft certified under ASTM standards, the carbon fiber CT is the best-selling LSA in America. More than 1,000 CT models are flying around the globe.
