April 19, 2007 - The Light Aircraft Manufacturers Association (LAMA) formally recognized IndUS Aviation for being the first LSA manufacturer to complete a mandatory compliance audit to ASTM standards at Sun N Fun Fly In.
Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Senior Vice President Bob Warner joined LAMA officials, including Chairman of the Board Dan Johnson, at the presentation. LAMA introduced an independent third party audit program last summer and IndUS Aviation was the first to successfully complete the compliance audit to ASTM standards. Three other companies recently went through the audit process: Jihlavan Airplanes, Flight Designs, and Aeropro. Companies that successfully complete the LAMA audit earn the right to put a serial numbered placard on each aircraft confirming compliance to ASTM’s LSA standards.
