9/21/2007 Yakima, WA - With production installations now underway, CubCrafters latest innovation to add more power and more performance to the SPORT CUB S2 has exceeded initial expectations. Testing of the new exhaust system for the O-200, internally dubbed the “4-into-None” Exhaust, has validated a nearly 100 RPM gain over the conventional system. Moreover, that RPM gain translates into a nearly 10% improvement in static thrust! Additional benefits to the redesign exercise are both improved carburetor heat and enhanced cabin heating over the original exhaust.
Richmond concluded, “We could not have gotten as much improvement as we have without Tom and Klaus, so a sincere ‘Thank You’ to both of them for their contributions on this project.”
As was announced at EAA Airventure in late July this year, the new “4-Into-None” exhaust system is currently only available on SPORT CUB S2 within the “Performance Package” option. Work is underway to determine applicability for installation as a retro-fit for previous SPORT CUB models.
